   Flu Shot Schedule

2007 Flu Shot Schedule

Flu shots are subject to the availability of the vaccine. Times and locations are subject to change.

During October, November and December the Department of Healthcare and Family Services is offering free influenza shots to active employees and SERS retirees enrolled in a state-sponsored health plan. Spouses and dependents are not eligible for this program.

Flu shots will be given at the SRS Springfield office on November 9, 2007, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Retirees must present their health insurance cards from a State-sponsored health plan in addition to some form of ID. If you are Medicare eligible, you may obtain a flu shot from your physician. Employees must present an employment ID and a health insurance card from a State-sponsored health plan.

Flu shots will be available in various state agencies in Springfield and Chicago, as well as participating local health departments throughout the state (view listing at CMS.) Please call your local health department for the dates and times to obtain a flu shot. It’s always a good idea to call before departing to make sure the clinic is still being held.
