   SERS Pension Payments

SERS PENSION PAYMENTS WILL CONTINUE AS SCHEDULED

All SERS benefits will be paid as scheduled and will be paid every month thereafter as scheduled, even though State payments to SERS will be delayed due to ongoing cashflow problems. SERS has almost $15 billion in the trust fund to pay benefits, while benefits total about $175 million per month. Even with the delay, Comptroller Munger has indicated that she expects to make the entire SERS contribution for FY 2016 by the end of June 2016.
