2010 Update of SERS Legislation

SB0205, sponsored by Bomke - Demuzio

  • Amends the State Employees' Article of the Pension Code to provide the alternative formula to State electrical workers.


SB0302, sponsored by Bomke

  • Amends the State Employees' Article of the Pension Code to allow an employee to establish service credit for certain periods of layoff. To establish service credit for the layoff period, application must be made within 6 months of the effective date of the Amendatory Act. The employee is required to make the employee and
    employer contributions (normal cost), plus interest from the date of the retum to employment to the date of payment.

SB1479, sponsored by Raoul

  • Amends the State Employees' Article of the Pension Code to allow members to establish service credit for up to five furlough days, due to a State fiscal emergency, without making contributions.


SB1581, sponsored by Demuzio

  • Amends the State Employees' Article of the Pension Code to provide the alternative formula to certain Central Management Services automotive shop supervisors.


SB1584, sponsored by Radogno

  • Amends the State Employees' Article of the Pension Code to provide the alternative formula to certain Central Management Services automotive shop supervisors.


SB1585, sponsored by Bomke

  • Amends the State Employees' Article of the Pension Code to provide the alternative formula to certain forensic employees of the Department of State police.


SB1802, sponsored by Burzynski

  • Amends the State Employees' Article of the Pension Code to provide the alternative formula to certain "warehouse examiner specialists,, employed by tire Department of Agriculture.


SB1946, sponsored by Raoul

  • Amends the State Employees' Article of the Pension Code to allow a member who purchases service credit for a period of leave of absence to have earnings credited during the period of leave. If no contributions are required to establish service credit for the period of leave, SB 1946 allows members to establish earnings for the period of leave by making the applicable employee and employer contribulions (normal cost), plus interest, at 8.5% annually, from the date the leave began to the date of payment.


SB2246, sponsored by Lauzen

  • Amends the General Provisions Article of the Pension Code to specify that a retirement annuity shall never exceed more than $100,000 per year.


SB2460, sponsored by Koehler

  • Amends the _State
    Employees' Article of the Pension Code to provide the altemative formula to certain bridge tenders employed by the Department of Transportation.


SB2474, sponsored by Bomke

  • Amends the State Employees' Article of the pension Code to allow members to establish service credit for up to 24 furlough days, used to address a State fiscal emergency, without making contributions.
